Our Leadership
We are passionate about developing Christian leaders in the church, workplace, and the home. The work of the church is not carried out by 'church leaders' but by the whole body. Our leaders listed below are our Elders, staff, and ministry leaders. Many others in the body play vital roles on our ministry teams and others are involved in kingdom-minded work outside of the building walls.

Brian Land
Lead Pastor
Brian and Amy have been married since 1992 and led youth ministries for 20 years after which Brian transitioned to Preaching Pastor at Grace Mills River as he prepared to plant Grace Brevard. They have three kids: Ashley, who is married and works in the power industry in Austin, TX; Trevor, who works in the Finance World in Huntsville, AL; Emily the Art Queen in Asheville, NC.

Brian Canon
Ruling Elder
Brian and Margaret moved to Brevard in 2022. They have two children, Abigail and John Nolen. Brian works at Young Life Carolina Point. They love living in WNC and enjoy camping together as a family.

Joe Kirk
Ruling Elder
Joe Kirk moved to Brevard from Nashville when he retired in 2022. He lives in Connestee Falls with his wife Betsy and the youngest of their eight daughters, Sophia. Joe was born in West Virginia and has lived is seven southeastern States. Joe and Betsy came to faith in Jesus while he was a student at the University of Florida. He had a diverse career ranging from campus ministry to Information Technology management to the music industry.

Leslie Libby
Prayer Team Lead
I was part of the church plant from the beginning. It has been personally, as well as corporately, a place to see God lead, speak, correct, and challenge our beliefs and allow for space to repent and receive God’s living grace. I would be lying not to say it’s been hard; after all, the church gathered by Jesus himself is full of sinners. But I must also say there has been an authentic faith that has been growing and spreading and I find the main component of that faith growth is prayer. He proves over and over again how involved, how kind, how chatty he is; wanting us to know him more and more; connecting feet on the ground living to the true God who abides and moves within us. That connection of Spirit and flesh is by prayer. That’s why I find myself very involved in the prayer ministry.

Grant Pierron
Ruling Elder
Grant and his wife Trudy have lived in the area for close to two decades now after moving from Wisconsin. They have 4 grown boys. They started attending Grace Brevard about 4 years ago drawn by authentic worship, the people of the congregation and the depth/truth of God's unfathomable love delivered through Pastor Brian's sermons. Grant says he is a good case of how God works through imperfect people. He has opened a door for him to help with adult education both in the church and with Bible Study Fellowship (an 8 month interdenominational comprehensive study of books of the Bible). He feels so blessed to serve the God of the Universe, Creator of all things, Lover of our souls and my Redeemer through the precious sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.

Chris Godley
Ministry Coordinator
Chris moved to Brevard at the start of 2023 with his wife Anne and their three children. He grew up in Hendersonville and loves the mountains of NC. Chris organizes our Sunday many things in and around the church. He finished his MACM from Gordon Conwell in 2024. He and his family are so thankful to be in Brevard and serving this wonderful congregation.

Lynne Emory
Cafe Team Lead
More details to come. More details to come. More details to come. More details to come. More details come.

Ginger Kirk
Global Missions Lead
“Missions,” for me––whether it’s serving on the Grace Brevard Missions Team, serving the local community through Young Life, or going global on short-term missions with the Library Ladies Mission Adventures––it’s in response to the Lord. Isaiah 6:8 says it all…I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me. “ Shalom.

Ethan Lydon
Ruling Elder
Ethan moved to Brevard in 2020 to pursue his long-time dream of growing roots in the western North Carolina mountains. He is married to Jean with two grown children. He comes to Brevard from northern Ohio, where he served his church as a deacon and member of the executive committee for 4 years. Serving, building community, learning, and loving within the church are a passion and calling. Professionally, Ethan works full-time with Microsoft where he helps lead partner strategy.

Matthew Queen
Tech Coordinator
Matthew has been with Grace Brevard since 2020. He works as the Production Manager of the Brevard Music Center and is the owner of Discover Productions, a local digital media production company. Matthew has been in technical production for almost ten years now, and he spends his Sunday mornings hiding in the tech booth at Grace. Drop in and say hi! He doesn't get a lot of opportunity to talk to people!

Trudy Pierron
Children and Families Director
From Japan to The Netherlands, Georgia to Wisconsin, my husband Grant and I have lived in many places, but for the last 19 years, Brevard has been home. Over the years, we raised four strapping boys, and now, with the youngest off to college, we’re stepping into both the empty-nester phase and the incredible adventure of grandparenting, welcoming our first grandson just two weeks ago! “During my 12 years at Brevard Academy, I wore many hats, serving as a Reading Specialist, Volunteer Coordinator, and Middle School AIG Teacher. But beyond the classroom, my true passion has always been knowing Jesus more deeply through His Word and walking alongside others in their faith journeys. Whether through one-on-one encouragement or designing and leading studies, I thrive on helping others grow closer to the Lord. “For over 15 years, I’ve been actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship International, and I was thrilled to help establish the first women’s satellite group in Brevard six years ago. Since then, the movement has continued to grow, adding a men’s group and, most recently, a student program. “Now, as I step into this new role as Children’s Director at Grace Brevard, I am beyond excited to continue building up the next generation in faith. My heart is set on walking alongside families, nurturing young believers, and continually discovering together the unshakable treasure we have in Christ.

Mark Emory
Ruling Elder
My wife Lynne and I have been a part of the church since it’s inception. We were members at Grace Mills River (GMR) when Brian and Amy, with support from GMR, decided to plant a church in Brevard. Having a small group of grace centered believers in our community has been a great blessing. We have been in Brevard for 43 years where our children Brad and Leah grew up. Brad and his wife Brooks live in Apex with their four children Ellie, Lucy, Chase, and Luke. Leah lives in London working with Serge, a grace-based international missions organization. Lynne and I enjoy hiking and traveling, especially to the UK for some reason. Lynne leads the Cafe team along with many other great volunteers. We feel privileged to be a part of a group of believers with diverse talents and gifts who support each other and are willing to do their part in loving one another and our community. It is very exciting to move forward with all of you with the prayer of our church always being true to “grace expressing itself in love."

Jack Lange
Ruling Elder
Jack moved to Brevard permanently in 2018 having been a part time resident since 2006. He is a widower with one grown son. He lived in South Florida for more than fifty years where he was active in several churches. Jack also participated in Celebrate Recovery a Christian 12 Step program as a leader for a number of years. Prayer ministry, study and walking out the truth found in the bible, the word of God and participating in the life of the Church are life goals. Jack is fully retired from the Environmental Consulting field.

Jean Lydon
Care Team Lead
I love the local church and find there is no better way to learn to serve each other as Christ serves us but in this community. Recently, I earned a formation certificate from CCEF in Biblical Counseling to better serve and love those within the church. I am also an interior designer by trade, which could be why I get caught up in the ways in which God works––a bit of “form follows function.” There’s a purpose for everything even when we don’t know all the details. I am so thankful that in my walk with the Lord over the past twenty years, that I still get to “stir up one another in love and good works” (Hebrews 10:23) and I get to do life together, side by side with others!
